Meet Zaharani Said, a creative young boy with a wonderful imagination and a special talent for art, especially drawing and colouring cartoons.

He also loves moulding with clay and, when he isn’t creating his next masterpiece, you’ll probably find him in the swimming pool!

Diagnosed with autism at just two years old, Zaharani’s journey has not always been easy. But through every challenge, he has continued to grow, learn and surprise his family with his progress. Today, he has found some words and continues to express himself beautifully through art.

Through Mr and Miss Autism Mombasa 2026, Zaharani and his family hope to champion a more inclusive Kenya. One where autistic children have access to quality therapy, inclusive education, social opportunities and, one day, meaningful employment.

His journey is a reminder that progress may look different for every child, but every milestone matters and every ability deserves a chance to shine.
