Meet Joshua, a gentle, creative and wonderfully curious 14-year-old who may not always use words to speak but he has plenty to say.

Joshua communicates through sign language, writing, gestures and his incredible creative expression. And when it comes to his interests, this young man certainly doesn't believe in picking just one!

Give him some bright colours and a paintbrush, a tricky mathematics problem, a swimming pool, some good music or a piano and watch Joshua come alive.

A proud swimmer who has represented his team in competitions, including PIPSSA events, Joshua is also known for his calm, loving nature and the quiet joy he brings wherever he goes.

Through Mr & Miss Autism Mombasa 2026, Joshua hopes to celebrate his abilities, grow in confidence, make new connections and, most importantly, represent non-speaking and minimally speaking autistic young people.

Because sometimes, the most powerful voices aren't the loudest ones.
